My angel
I look back at you
And see you just the same
Your arms outstretched
A silver smile woven on your face

My love
Why do you reach out
Your arms out to each side
Outstretched expectantly
With hopes oh so high

My angel
Those birds perch upon your arms
You don’t scare them away
In fact, they’re like family
Visiting you every day

My love
Do I see something in your eye
Are you wishing the same as me
Or is it in your smile
A dream of breaking free

My angel
Do you wish that, like them
That you had wings
Do you wish that, like them
You could fly from earthly things

My love
If only to have wings
Is that what you ask
If only to have wings
Would that crush your anguish

My angel
With your arms outstretched
I stretch my arms too
Begging for wings
So that I may go with you

Anyways... Just another one of my scarecrow drabbles, I guess... I can tell there are going to be a lot of these in the future. -smiles slightly-

This came from my current thoughts... School's being stressful, and so I'm kind of just...daydreaming about flying away when I get home...

I'm sure a lot of us did this when we were young... Outstretching our arms... It's something that most children do, and I still do to this day... It's normally a sign of wanting to fly, and I really think it's a beautiful dream. For once in our life, I think we'd all like to have a set of wings and just soar through the skies... Just once...

It got me thinking...scarecrows' arms are always outstretched, and really, they don't always scare away the crows. In fact, a lot of crows actually perch themselves upon what is supposed to be their enemy. But the scarecrow doesn't do anything about it. In a way, I visualize them as some sort of family. And the further I think about the scarecrow's arms being outstretched...the more I visualize a young child with their arms out in the air... It relates to the young dream of flying...

Yea...that's how that came about... -sweatdrop- I lost my train of thought, I'm afraid. Mum came in and interrupted me...

Anyways...

Poem (c) Kage-Ichihashi (Momo Dublin) 2006

Oh yea...this was the base for the poem. I had to scribble something out so I wouldn't forget because I was in the midst of doing my speech homework...

My angel
Why do you reach your arms out like that?
My love
Are you truly meant to scare them away?
My angel
Is it that you wish you had wings?
My love
Like me, do you wish you could fly?
My angel
Do you want to be like those birds that perch on your arms?
My love
Will you take me with you?

-sighs- For once, I wish that I could also just fly away from it all...all the worldly stress, the loss, the pain. All of it. But flying away and running away are two different things. May your talent soar, Kia, and may your mind and heart develope the wings you long for. I, however, will continue to be a coward and run from the tears.

You're a beautiful writer, Kia. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

so beautiful. the scarecrow is really important isn't he?
I do that all the time too, stretch my arms and hope to fly. when I was younger I used to dream I really flied and it felt so real that, till now, I can't help but feeling that those weren't dreams, that actually used to happen. once I read in a magazine that those dreams are memories of other lives, when we could fly. but I don't, I just have my guts.
take care =)

-grins- Yes. He is.

And thank you. Especially for sharing that story. One day, I hope we all gain our wings and fly. Take care.
